Social Studies

We are near the end of Chapter 1, Meet Michigan, where we have been learning about Michigan’s state symbols, and lots of geography features in our state.  On Tuesday we will send home a review sheet for your child to use to prepare for our test on Thursday.

 

Homework

Don’t forget….homework sheets are due on Mondays!   Our focus for homework this year is to have students reading at night on a daily basis. We would like them to read their “Good Fit” book that they bring back and forth to school. This book should be a book that interests them, or is not too easy, but not too hard. We also have options for kids to work on additional math skills and writing. 

 

Positivity Project Character Strength:  Integrity

This week we are learning about Integrity, which is you are honest and speak the truth, and you present yourself genuinely and sincerely.

Math- Multiplication and making Arrays

Reading- Main Idea and details

Word Study - Adding -ing to double consonant words, e-drop words, and no change words

Social Studies- Michigan - Chapter 1:  Geography 

Writing- We will continue working on writing a personal narrative

  3rd Grade News Week 8 October 25th - October 29th, 2021 Monday, October 25th - Library/Media Center Tuesday, October 26th - Art Wednesday, October 27th - LATE START Thursday, October 28th - Gym Friday, October 29th - Music, Halloween Party 1:30, All School Parade 3:15 Important Dates Late Starts - November 3rd, 10th, 17th ½ Days - November 11th, 12th, and 19th Thanksgiving Break-No School - November 24th-26th   Multiplication Facts And we’re off on our multiplication adventure!  In our last math unit, we began introducing students to using equal groups and arrays to solve multiplication facts.  We are beginning memorization by learning the 0s, 1s, 2s, 5s, and 10s.  We are working on these in class, but many students will benefit from additional practice at home.  Resources to use include:  IXL F Skills, Flashcards, using items at home to make equal groups (for our more visual learners) examples would be: pennies, beads, popsicle sticks, etc...
