March is Reading Month Celebration!

We have read and talked about so many new books this month! In order to celebrate our hard work, our class has chosen to watch a movie on Thursday afternoon. Students may bring in a pillow, blanket and extra snack if they wish.


Spring Weather

As temperatures begin to warm up, please remind your child that they will need a coat for recess if the temperature has not reached 60 degrees.  If they are playing and get warm, they are asked to tie their coat around their waist.

 

Computers

After spring break, if you would like your child to keep their computer/charger at school, instead of bringing it home every night, please send their charger with them back to school.  I will have computer stations set up so they can leave their computer at school to charge overnight.  With testing season coming up in a few weeks, it is important that computers are fully charged and this is one way we can ensure that happens.  We’ve also had parents express concerns about the management of computers at home, so this could help with that situation as well.  

 

Positivity Project Character Strength :   This week’s character strength is Humor.  Humor expresses your love to laugh and bring smiles to others.  We will spend time this week spreading laughter!

  3rd Grade News Week 8 October 25th - October 29th, 2021 Monday, October 25th - Library/Media Center Tuesday, October 26th - Art Wednesday, October 27th - LATE START Thursday, October 28th - Gym Friday, October 29th - Music, Halloween Party 1:30, All School Parade 3:15 Important Dates Late Starts - November 3rd, 10th, 17th ½ Days - November 11th, 12th, and 19th Thanksgiving Break-No School - November 24th-26th   Multiplication Facts And we’re off on our multiplication adventure!  In our last math unit, we began introducing students to using equal groups and arrays to solve multiplication facts.  We are beginning memorization by learning the 0s, 1s, 2s, 5s, and 10s.  We are working on these in class, but many students will benefit from additional practice at home.  Resources to use include:  IXL F Skills, Flashcards, using items at home to make equal groups (for our more visual learners) examples would be: pennies, beads, popsicle sticks, etc...
